Passport Wait Times Slashed as Massive Lamination Paper Arrives

In a significant development, the Passport and Immigration Department in Karachi has announced the imminent arrival of a substantial batch of lamination paper, poised to revolutionize the passport issuance process starting tonight.

For the past several months, citizens grappling with prolonged waits for passport issuance can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The Director-General of the Passport and Immigration Office issued a statement on Wednesday, assuring a swift resolution to the persistent problems faced by applicants.

Under the revamped system, all passport applications falling under the Fast Track category will be processed within an impressive three working days. Urgent Passport category applications will not be far behind, with a commitment to completion within five working days. Most notably, regular passport applicants can expect their documents processed in an unprecedented one working day, a significant improvement from the current lengthy delays.

Contrary to previous concerns and reports, the Passport authorities debunked any claims of delays in passport printing. The department clarified that normal passports, which previously took one and a half to two months to process, will now be available within a much-reduced timeframe of 21 working days. Similarly, urgent passports, often taking twelve to fifteen days, will also benefit from the streamlined process.

This turnaround is attributed to the imminent arrival of a large quantity of lamination paper, ensuring a more efficient and timely passport printing process. The Passport and Immigration Department vehemently denied the veracity of earlier reports hinting at delays and emphasized that the new developments align with their commitment to prompt and reliable service.
